What are the purposes?

China is a very large and diverse country with 34 provinces, 333 major cities, 2,862 counties, 41,000 towns, 700,000 villages, and over 10,000 tourist attractions on a territory with over 5,000 years of history behind it and over 1.3 billion people, 56 different ethnic groups …

Information about China travel and Chinese culture is available, but they are scattered across all media. We have also noted that the majority of information only focuses on the top 10-20 most popular cities, attraction and destinations. The information about the ‘rest of China’ is scare and incomplete.

Background of Ni Hao?

www.ni-hao.co.uk is operated by Dragon Page Group. Julius Tsui, the founder of Dragon Page Group, was born in Hong Kong, grew up in the UK, and had never been to mainland China until the beginning of 2006 …. Like any first time tourists, Julius chose to visit one of the most popular cities in China – Shanghai. While in Shanghai, he also joined a local tour to go to the centre part of China, Jiu Zhai Gou in Sichuan province. Jiu Zhai Gou is a very famous tourist attraction, certainly among Chinese people. It is located at some 3000m above sea level, and one of the few and spectacular glacial highland remains in the world. Although it was only a short 2-week trip, and Shanghai and Jiu Zhai Gou are two completely different places in many ways, in terms of the scenery, and the way how the local people live, Julius was truly impressed by what he saw and experienced in both places. He was determined to learn more about China. He then managed to get a research team in the UK and China to assist him in kicking start this long journey to discover China with the rest of the world …

Our Motto

‘ 讀萬捲書,不如行萬里路’ (Learn through travel – the best way to discover is by getting out and experiencing it yourself rather then reading a million of books at home). This ancient old Chinese saying is still very true today!

China has been growing incredibly fast over the past decade, both as a crucial economy in the global arena and as a leading tourist destination. The long awaited Beijing Olympics 2008 is finally here. It also means Shanghai Expo 2010 is not too far from now….

We would like to see more and more people travelling to China and discovering China at their own pace, and sharing their best experiences with thousands of passionate China travellers around the world!

Happy travelling and discovering!
